What is an Escape Room?
Each of our five themed escape rooms are a real-life adventure game in which participants are figuratively locked in a room and have to use its objects and elements to solve a series of puzzles, discover hidden clues, and make logical connections in order to find the way out (hence, escape) within time frame depending on the escape room. It is an interactive thrilling unique experience.
How Do I Book an Escape Room at OB-Xscape Rooms?
All of our bookings are done online via our website or click here for a direct booking link. For booking availability less than one hour from booking time, please call.
What Does an Escape Room Cost Per Participant?
Our escape room prices per participant is $30 for our 60 minute rooms which are: Mutiny on the Lark, Cell Block 4 Death Row, The Blind Tiger Speakeasy, and Cold Case Murder of Dawn Renee and our 30 minute room is $20 per person which is our Meltdown Escape Room. All bookings must be purchased in advanced.
Can We Participate without a Reservation?
All bookings are required to have an advanced paid reservation. If you walk in and your group is ready, and we happen to have a room available then you are one lucky ducky!
Is the Door Really Locked?
Yes and no. You are figuratively locked in a room, but even though you may forget that you paid to be locked in our escape room, for safety reasons the entry door is never actually locked and you can leave at any time. However, once you leave the room the game is over for you.
Who is it For?
OB-Xscape Rooms are great for casual get-togethers with friends and family, gamers, an unique (other than the movies) date night, tourists, special events, birthday parties, corporate team building, corporate evaluations of team members, or simply just a reason to “ESCAPE” the house!
Our escape rooms are appropriate for children 10 years old or older, with the exception of Rest in Peace, which is for participants age 18 years and older
How Many Participants Are in the Session?
Each room has a different allowance of participants. Check each room’s description for the minimum and maximum participants.
Will There Be People I Don’t Know in the Room?
Depends. The room is open to anyone to book and to enjoy the experience with other players. When you book your room, there will be a maximum participant listed for that particular room and if any number of available bookings for that room is less than that maximum listed will be a clue that your group will be joining another group. Strangers upon entry will not feel that way once the game begins, however if you would like a private booking, you will need to purchase all the available tickets under one reservation and have the option to exchange them with your friends or family that you want to join your group.
When booking pay attention to the number of participants that can play the room and the number of participants still available for that room. For example, Cell Block 4 Death Row has a maximum number of 12 people, so when selecting that room and you see that there are 8 available spots left, then that means 4 people are already booked in Cell Block 4 Death Row and therefore, you would be joining another group in the room.
What Should I Bring with Me?
Bring a paying adult for any participants 13 years or younger. Bring an age verification to show you are at least 18 years of age if you are playing the escape game, Rest in Peace (Opens Spring 2020).
If you are booking Mutiny on the Lark then leave watches and bracelets at home.
Other than that, just bring your wit and cleverness with you and leave any egos at home. The answers to the clues, riddles, and puzzles are all in the rooms. You will be using your ability to look for clues, make logical connections between objects and elements in the room, as well as communicate with the other performers, and apply deductive reasoning to escape.
When Should I Arrive for my Game?
We ask that your party arrives 15 minutes prior to your scheduled booking time in order assure waiver is completed and listen to our escape and safety brief. No refunds will be offered for arrivals after the booking time and the time will be taken from the booked time you had reserved. Please see our cancellation/late arrivals/no show policy.
What if I Need to Change my Reservation and What is Your Cancellation Policy?
Please pay attention: No refunds are given for groups or part of a group that shows up late, fails to show up, or cancels.
Rescheduling/Change of Booking
Bookings may be rescheduled up to 24 hours in advance of booking.
A booking is considered a no-show if a group or part thereof fails to show for the booking 10 mins past the scheduled booking time.
Since your ticket reserves the room for a set scheduled time, in case you show up late, your game time will be decreased. If the rest of your group arrives on time, they will be allowed to start without you. No exceptions. Your game STARTS at your BOOKING TIME even if you are not in the room, which is why a 15 minute arrival before your game start time is required.
Are Cell Phones Permitted?
Cell phones are not allowed in the room. The use of electronic devices or any outside tools are strictly prohibited and you will immediately be removed from the escape room if you attempt to use them.
All of our escape rooms are monitored by our Game Guides 100% of your time in the escape room. We provide a locked wall cabinet to store your phone outside your room if you would like to bring it in to take pictures afterwards.
What Should I Wear?
Wear flat shoes, and we recommend (not required) closed-toe shoes for participants in the Mutiny on the Lark.
For your safety, you will not be allowed to participate if you are wearing high heels/wedges or barefoot. You are welcome to bring a change of appropriate footwear with you. We also recommend dressing in layers as you may start to feel like you are in a human stew which may not be very appetizing for the other participants.
How Old Do You Have to Be?
Our escape games are mostly for an older child to adult entertainment activity. Most of our rooms are dark and intimidating with complex puzzles that require a higher level of solving. However, there is a minimum age of 18 years old requirement to play our horror-themed escape game, Rest in Peace, and age verification may be requested by staff. No entry will be allowed or refunds provided for participants who can not prove their age. Rest in Peace will open Spring 2020
Participants ages infant to 13 years old must be accompanied by a paying adult in the room. Children 13 years and younger, including infants and toddlers, will not be allowed in the room unless the group reserves a private room booking.
A minimum of one adult per four children (13 years old and younger) must accompany and stay onsite with groups of children (including birthday parties) under the age of 13.
Any unaccompanied minor (ages 14-17 years old) must have a signed liability release wavier IN THE LIABLE ADULT’S NAME and then adding the respective minor to the waiver. Waivers can be signed by their parent/legal guardian/custodian for children 14-17 years old, but waivers for children younger than 14 years old need to be completed by their parent. CLICK HERE for the waiver.
If at check in, there is not an adult accompanying any child 13 years or younger then the booking will be cancelled without refund or rescheduling.
Will We be Given Clues or Hints During the Game?
Yes, our Game Guides will be monitoring your game and will provide clues upon your request to beat the clock. Our escape room games comes with five Game Guide clues for each room. There are no time deduction penalties for asking for clues.
What if I am Pregnant?
We do not recommend the Mutiny on the Lark escape room for women who are pregnant, as there is the risk of falling due to starting off in the game being in hand manacles in conjunction with the dim lighting while participating. There is an option of choosing to not be manacled such as the other participants are and simply observe your group in their first endeavor of the game play; escape the manacles!
Our other escape rooms strenuous enough to advised against pregnant womens’ participation, but as with all rooms participation, is ultimately up to your discretion and we recommend consulting your physician prior to participation.
What if I Have Mobility Impairments?
